Powerloop expands power-only load service into California

One of the biggest pain points in trucking, for carriers and shippers alike, is detention time. When carriers are held up at facilities waiting to load or unload their freight, everyone loses.

For truckers, detention delays cost an estimated $1.1 to $1.3 billion in earnings each year. For shippers, a backlog of drivers waiting to load or unload at their facilities creates disruptions and inefficiencies in their supply chains.

With Powerloop, Uber Freight’s affiliated trailer-pool company, eligible carriers can drop-off and pick up pre-loaded trailers and get back on the road sooner, streamlining operations for the facility, the shipper, and the carrier.

Since launching one year ago, Powerloop has been embraced by businesses running routes across Texas. Today, we’re excited to announce that we’re expanding Powerloop into California.

By expanding to the west coast Powerloop can improve the workdays of the tens of thousands of carriers and shippers operating in the Golden State. What’s more, it brings us one step closer to our vision for a seamless, nationally-scaled trailer pool program.

LG Electronics embraces Powerloop in Texas and California

In 2018, LG Electronics partnered with Uber Freight when the global manufacturer was looking for a way to streamline their operations and garner driver-favorability in a particularly tight carrier market.

One of the key aspects of the partnership is the scale-trailer pool offered by Powerloop, an Uber Freight affiliate.

By utilizing power-only loads in Texas, and now in California, LG is better able to meet the changing needs of their supply chain, optimize their annual spend, and improve their relationships with their customers.

Since teaming up, Uber Freight, with Powerloop as a core-service offering, has become one of LG’s top transportation service providers. You can read more about the partnership here.

We look forward to expanding Powerloop service over the coming months. To learn more, visit the Powerloop website.
