For trucking companies, the costs of running a business add up fast. From fuel, which can amount to 34% of trucking costs, to maintenance and tires, which together eat another 10%, these significant costs are an endless challenge. While some larger companies can offset these expenses by negotiating bulk discounts, most have to pay full price to keep their trucks on the road.

Uber Freight’s mission is to help trucking companies, big and small, run and grow their businesses.

We started with an app that helps carriers and their drivers book loads with the touch of a button. Since then, we’ve added features that help carriers and their drivers find the perfect load, keep their truck utilized and even get home to their families faster. But we want to go further.

Today, we’re launching Uber Freight Plus, a program that gives our app users access to discounts on services we know they need, so they can run their business the way they want — no matter their size. With this program, we’re bringing a whole new level of opportunity to active carriers and their drivers, at no additional cost to them. We’re kicking off Uber Freight Plus with four initial deals from industry partners drivers trust, and in many cases already use, on some of their biggest expenses: fuel, phone bills, and buying and maintaining the truck itself.

Initial Uber Freight Plus Deals

Fuel is the most expensive part of a driver’s life on the road, which is why we’ve created the Uber Freight Fuel Card, which is powered by Comdata, a FLEETCOR company. With this credit or prefunded card, active carriers and their drivers can save big on fuel, maintenance, and tires from our partners TA and Petro, Roady’s Truck Stops and Goodyear, and also take advantage of discounts on IFTA, licensing and permits.

We’ve also partnered with Navistar to offer active Uber Freight app carriers exclusive and meaningful discounts on both the maintenance and purchase of a new or used truck. These offers will help trucking companies extend the lives of their trucks as well as scale their fleets more efficiently.

For many drivers, their smartphone is their business center; so we’ve teamed up with Sprint and other carriers to give active carriers and their drivers discounts on eligible monthly phone plans and accessories.

In the coming months, we’ll continue to add new partners, discounts and services to the program to bring even more value to our growing network of active app users.
