The program enables fleets by making electric Class 8 trucks more affordable and accessible by addressing key adoption barriers.
Are there requirements to participate in the program?
Carriers must dedicate their Tesla Semis and associated drivers exclusively to Uber Freight for the length of the contract, meeting minimum asset utilization standards.
How much can I get from the buyer program?
This will be based on the bid proposal submitted by the motor carrier and may vary depending on duration of the contract, geo, fleet size, etc. Our goal is to lower upfront costs to help close the gap between an EV Class 8 truck and a diesel Class 8 truck.
Who is eligible to participate in the program?
Carrier fleets operating in North America hauling with Uber Freight today that have signed our Motor Carrier Agreement and meet our service standards are eligible to apply. Participating carriers will be selected by Uber Freight at its discretion.
How does the subsidy work?
Participating carriers receive a subsidy for each Tesla Semi purchased through Uber Freight’s program.
How does the predictable revenue work?
Uber Freight provides participating carriers with payments over the contract term, based on terms of the contract.
What happens at the end of the multi-year contract?
At the end of the commitment, carriers retain full ownership of their Tesla Semis and can choose how to deploy them moving forward.
Are there any limitations on routes or regions for participating trucks?
Trucks should operate within routes supported by Tesla’s public charging network and according to Uber Freight’s dedicated freight contracts. Operations are permitted outside of Tesla’s public charging network but finding options to charge may be difficult.
