Better freight, faster growth: Carrier Crossover Program unlocks access to stable, profitable freight across Uber Freight’s network
Carriers continue to feel the pressure in today’s freight market. Spot and contract freight rates have remained flat for the past three years, while operating costs only continue to rise. Carriers need profitable freight and new opportunities to drive consistency in their business.
For high-performing fleets that already move contract freight with shippers in Uber Freight’s network, Uber Freight has a new way for them to access more freight, optimize their equipment, and expand their earning potential. Those who decide to participate in this new program can diversify their freight mix now and gain an advantage relative to the broader market.
Because while freight demand may be soft, freight volume remains steady at Uber Freight.
With Uber Freight, carriers can already access high-quality freight from the world’s largest shippers on one of the industry’s largest and most secure networks. By supporting shippers of all sizes and growth stages—including 30% of Fortune 500 shippers—Uber Freight sees thousands of high-quality load and lane opportunities flow through its network every day. In 2024, carriers earned just shy of $850 million on freight in the Uber Freight network. Opportunity with Uber Freight abounds.
Introducing Uber Freight’s Carrier Crossover Program
Uber Freight's Carrier Crossover Program invites existing fleets hauling contract freight to access and win even more freight opportunities across the Uber Freight network. Carriers can unlock access to thousands of new loads and lanes across the U.S. daily across modes: van, reefer, flatbed, power only, and more.
Contract bidding season is also here, and Uber Freight is actively awarding new contract freight across the network. Now is the perfect time to secure more contract freight with new shippers and rebalance your network heading into 2026.
With this expanded access across Uber Freight’s network, fleets can earn additional contract freight opportunities or supplement their business with spot. Filling the gaps between dedicated loads with contract and spot freight opportunities helps reduce downtime and optimize routes to fill backhauls, minimize empty miles, and improve fleet efficiency.
More freight. More support
One of the Crossover Program’s biggest advantages is the dedicated support carriers receive. Every carrier in the Crossover Program is paired with a dedicated representative on Uber Freight’s Strategic Fleets team for exclusive, white-glove support. This representative learns your fleet’s strengths and growth goals, so they can find loads that help meet your goals and grow your business.
Carriers can also use Uber Freight technology to bid on this additional freight alongside their dedicated opportunities. Through API integrations with Uber Freight’s Carrier Suite, carriers can connect their TMS or dispatch technology to Uber Freight to search, book, and track loads, manage payments, and automate processes all within the technology they already use every day.
Crossover Program carriers also get access to more flexible payment options, including 30-day payment terms without fees, two-day QuickPay for a fee, and more.
The Crossover Program in action: 8,000 more loads and $13 million in revenue with more dedicated freight and new loads daily
In just the first six months of the pilot and early launch, participating carriers have already moved 8,000 more loads year to date than they did in all of 2024, generating $13 million in additional revenue. Several have also since earned additional dedicated freight as their partnership with Uber Freight deepens. And with thousands of new loads posted daily, the opportunity for carriers to expand their business has never been greater:
1,774 additional loads year to date: A nationwide carrier with more than 1,200 tractors and close to 5,000 trailers started with 28 loads in January; in August, the carrier completed 348 loads.
1,472 additional loads year to date: A Chicagoland-based fleet with more than 350 tractors started with 90 loads in January and increased to 268 loads by August.
222 additional loads year to date: In July, a carrier based in Arkansas, with more than 2,000 tractors and 6,000 trailers, started in the Crossover Program with nine loads; by August, the carrier increased volume to 59 loads. In September, that load volume increased yet again to 91 loads.
103 additional loads year to date: A family-owned fleet in Indiana with more than 120 tractors and 350 trailers participated in its first RFP as part of the Crossover Program in June, winning four dedicated lanes and doubling volume from 10 loads in July to 38 loads in August.
Through the Crossover Program, carriers like these have infiltrated other parts of the Uber Freight network to deepen the relationship, build their businesses, and provide great service together.
Uber Freight is growing. Become a Crossover Program carrier now to ride the momentum
Because these carriers are already excelling on contract business, they’re exactly the type of carrier we want to continue to expand with in other parts of the network. Those who join now will get in early on that advantage.
“Uber Freight is growing, and we want carriers to grow with us,” says Nathan Adams, vice president of transportation and procurement at Uber Freight. “Our goal is to be carriers’ preferred destination for freight, where carriers can grow fastest through more strategic access to consistent, high-quality freight that aligns with their growth opportunities. The carriers that cross over today are setting themselves up to ride Uber Freight’s next wave of growth.”
