How to modernize your LTL shipping strategy in 2026

“Shippers will increasingly demand fewer partners that can do more across their networks. They should prioritize logistics partners that consistently translate detailed performance data into network-level actions, enabling more informed decision-making. This level of visibility helps control costs and maintain consistent service across networks. The providers who thrive in 2026 will be those who offer true integration across modes and capabilities, not siloed solutions delivered in isolation.”

- D’Andrae Larry, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Uber Freight.

As we close out 2025 and move into 2026, the freight market is showing signs of change. Both demand is softening due to seasonal and structural shifts, and capacity is shrinking as tractor orders are down 16% YoY. To help mitigate risk and uncertainty, shippers should prepare for various market scenarios, diversify and strengthen their carrier base, use a structured RFP process, and continue using real-time data and insights to adapt to market conditions and increase cost savings.
